Hello Friends,

As we approach the holidays, I enjoy taking time to look back with gratitude at what we’ve achieved together this past year:

A well-attended Annual Meeting

Increased networking events with our ever-popular Beer with Builders,

Increased Remodelers Council meetings, 

The Better Homes Awards program, back after a 5-year hiatus, 

Several educational events, 

The most successful golf tournament ever

New members coming on board

And a hugely successful legislative effort to roll back RBES that got our Governor’s attention and an Executive Order

And all of the above brought to you by volunteers.  As a volunteer organization we run on people power.  We run on the generosity of our members’ sponsorships.  Our volunteers join the board, they take on leadership roles, they join committees, they attend events, they help each other’s businesses by offering advice, job leads and sometimes even labor.  And often when they don’t have the time to volunteer, they generously sponsor the Association.  Thank you one and all for your support of, and dedication to, our Association.  We couldn’t do it without you!

To that end, I’m putting my hand out for help (I know you were stumped what to get me for the holidays!).  Here’s what I’d love to have in 2026:

A Remodelers Council Chair to head up the council and bring new ideas and energy to it

A membership director to shore up our membership and bring in new members and run events

Additional Board members to allow our long-time board members a life outside of the Association :>) 

Committee members for Education, Membership, Sponsorships, Website, Event Planning and the Golf Tournament

If you’re ready to bring your ideas and energy to help shape our Association’s future, we’d love to have you. Our current board is supportive, collaborative, and ready to mentor new leaders.

As always, I welcome your comments and ideas, your help and support to grow this Association so that we truly are The Association for every building professional in Vermont.  Spread the word and invite your colleagues and partners to join us!
